Holy Spirit Invasion

Rev. Kelly Hostetler preached a sermon called “Holy Spirit Invasion” which celebrates the biblical event of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples with the signs of a violent wind, fire, and speaking in multiple languages. Rev. Kelly emphasizes that without Pentecost, there would be no church or many positive influences Christianity has had on society.

The main points are:

1. Pentecost marked the release of the Holy Spirit in an unprecedented way since the Garden of Eden, empowering God's people to partner with God rather than try to live righteously through their own strength.

2. The Holy Spirit's arrival with the signs of wind, fire, and proclaiming God's wonders echoed Old Testament events and fulfilled Jesus' promise to send the Advocate/Helper.

3. God desires to dwell with those who humbly depend on Him, being unable to "stand on their own two feet." This posture allows people to experience God's self-giving love through the Holy Spirit.

4. From Eden to the end times portrayed in Revelation, God's plan has been for a multicultural, multilingual church family experiencing abundant spiritual life.

5. The sermon is a call to openly embrace the transformative power of the Holy Spirit in both personal lives and as a church community, stepping into cross-cultural relationships and opportunities.
